System Engineer Level 2 / 3 - Cyberjaya, Malaysia

Job Location : Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The PGA Storage System Engineer Level2/Level3 assists in providing 7-day, 24-hours storage and backup infrastructure administration and technical support in SAN, NAS, DAS and backup technologies used for customers. This professional engineer assists in running & maintaining a stable and fully functioning storage & backup infrastructure in companies data centre, customer's data centre or at customer sites. This position requires performing incident, request, change, and problem & release management functions based on the defined process outlined by company.

The role has an overall responsibility to ensure that companies contracted obligations towards the customers are met. In addition to that, this professional inherits all accountability and responsibility of the System Engineer Level 1/2. Where tasks overlap, the role has additional responsibilities in all areas to provide necessary assistance or to assume full responsibility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Inherits all the accountabilities and responsibilities of Systems Engineer Level 1/2.
  • Having the responsibility and accountability to be on-call or shift operations whenever required, ensuring level 1 engineer have the necessary support as and when required.
  • Act as the next escalation point from technical perspective in the area of backup/storage.
  • Perform 2nd level troubleshooting (defined in competencies matrix) on incidents generated from customers or generated by standard system or tool.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability.
  • Engage in situation meetings, teleconference and technical discussion with management, supporting teams or vendor.
  • Perform Problem Management as per defined by companies process to ensure that re-occurring issues are identified and removed permanently.
  • Perform in depth technical analysis to identify possible root causes on any related issue to minimize operations complexity.
  • Propose proactive / improvement initiatives towards improvement of efficiency in operations and implement resolutions as appropriate.
  • Prepare root cause analysis report to identify the root cause of a problem in order to create effective corrective actions that will prevent that problem from re-occurring.
  • Participate in situation meetings to provide feedback/updates/technical consultation to the situation/landscape managers, including the customer.
  • The performance of any related tasks within the framework of IT Operations.
  • The administration and troubleshooting of complex computing infrastructure (hardware/software) that may fall outside of problem management such as task forces with the aim to develop or identify sustainable solutions.
  • The assistance in the development of robust and optimized computing infrastructure solutions where such solutions will carry significant improvements towards daily operation tasks.
  • Provide technical assistance in terms of consultation, coordination and implementations of tasks for projects which approved by all stakeholders and defined well in scope by company.
  • Involved in the Disaster Recovery activities as outline in the DRS process document which is validated and approved by process owners.
  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) process/activities which defined as a standard process within company.
  • Acts as gatekeeper for all RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to be completed within the agreed SLA with consultation from all other supporting teams or stakeholders for all problem tickets. Thus all RCA(s) should be documented centrally.
  • Performs regular audits on security layer of the access management from the perspective of storage/backup/restore defined as a standard process by company or its customers.
  • Participate in the patch management from a storage/backup perspective whereby the coordination is narrated and defined by Systems Engineer Level 3.

Storage & Backup Specifics:

Backup Administration
  • Perform installations and setup of Backup Exec 10d, 11 or Netbackup 7 on master servers, media servers, cluster servers and other unique types of categorization.
  • Perform 2nd level or advance level backup monitoring of all supported customer sites at customer’s data centre or in companies data centre.
  • Troubleshoot on escalated incidents of backup failures up to resolution or escalation to the next level.
  • Manage backup/storage policies within the backup management console.
  • Manage storage resource in terms of tape libraries and tape drives within the backup management console.
  • Create and managing daily catalog for media management or tape handling in respective sites to make sure that daily/weekly/monthly backup job to tape would be successfully completed.
  • Perform regular verifications or checks on the firmware versions of all supported tape libraries, tape drives and other storage components which has firmware.
  • Identify re-occurring backup failures with the same issue identified and initiate problem management process.
  • Ensure that daily checklist for backup administration management completes and documented.
  • Perform escalations to backup vendors or other support teams once there’s a limit within scope or functionality of the current support model.
  • Create and manage storage policies for new backup requirements based on companies defined backup schema or backup schema as approved by customer.
  • Create new media storage pool as with standard naming convention defined in the  backup schema which needs to be done in the backup management console.
  • Implement & Manage data encryption and to make sure that backup/storage environment is compliant with the standards aligned with companies standards.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics from the hardware perspective of the supported tape libraries, single attached tape drives and other tape library supported by company.
  • Plan and implement regular maintenance activities if required of the tape libraries and tape drives of the support environment as per defined in the maintenance process document of the hardware for the backup/storage infrastructure.
  • Perform advance technical analysis of any backup & restore logging in the system and report back findings to supporting teams and management team.
Storage Administration
  • Proactively performs storage monitoring via management console or system generated incidents (event ticket based).
  • Analyze capacity reports on all storage devices/components on all supported storage environments in customer’s data centre, companies data centre or customer’s remote sites.
  • Troubleshoot escalated incidents of storage disks/controller/components failures within the 2nd level or advanced troubleshooting guide.
  • Adding and removing disks, disk group management, LUN management and presentation of LUNS to hosts.
  • Identify re-occurring storage related failures with the same issue identified and initiate problem management process.
  • Engaged in activities to upgrade storage components/architecture and firmware versions.
  • Provide support telephonically and/or electronically including participation in "on-call" Storage steady-state support rotation.
  • Generate reports and analysis on storage usage.
  • Assist in analysing the failures produced in the monthly KPI report for the area of backup/storage/restore as when required.
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, BEHAVIOR)

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.
Experience:
  • 6 to 8 years of experience working in the related fields or in the Information Technology area.
  • 3 to 5 years experience with the NetApps, HP, EMC and Hitachi DAS/NAS/SAN storage.
  • 2 to 3 years performing storage capacity planning, performance analysis and disaster recovery plans.
Technical (required)

Backup Certification – at least one from the following.
  • Symantec Backup Exec 11.x for Windows Administration I & II (must have)
  • Any other certification in VERITAS Backup Exec, Data Protector or CommVault.
  • Administrations of Symantec NetBackup 7.0 for Windows. (must have)
Storage Certification – at least one from the following.
  • NetApps Data Ontap 7.3 Fundamentals (DOTF) (must have)
  • CIFS/NFS Administration on Data ONTAP 7.3 (must have).
  • SNIA Storage Certified Professional (S10-101) (must have).
  • EMC Proven Professional Associate Certification (E20-001).
  • Hitachi Data Systems Storage Foundations – Enterprise Certification (HH0-110).
  • FAS3100/6000 Series Hardware Maintenance.
Technical (Added Advantage)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, storage networking and basic networking concepts. LAN and WAN administration.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Perform duties essential to managing the audit and compliance functions across all functions of a global customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement corporate information security policy standards and guidelines in line with the ISO 27001 framework and companies control framework, and ensure sustainance of compliance;
  • Work closely with clients as well as relevant third party vendors to ensure information security risks are identified and mitigated to an acceptable level
  • Participate in investigation, analysis and review following breaches of security controls, and prepare recommendations for appropriate control improvements.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of organizations security and compliance related processes as well as training materials
  • Manage assessment of threats to confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance. Take ownership of security control reviews, business risk assessments, and reviews that follow significant breaches of security controls.

  • Contribute in managing compliance level and reporting of related performance KPIs

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in key elements of Information Security and a background within professional services would be beneficial.

  • Experience in risk management methodologies and ability to address client audit questionnaires is also a key requirement for this role

ROLE PURPOSE:

The SAP BASIS Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting SAP systems hosted on companies Dynamic Computing Services platform for customers around the globe.

Primary responsibility will be supporting and monitoring the production break fix landscape, monitoring the environments, performing troubleshooting analysis, and supporting production application support. Roles and Responsibilities:
  • The Project Manager will own and manage the delivery of the project and will report into the Programme Delivery Manager.

Continuous Improvement Engineer - Cyberjaya, Malaysia

ROLE PURPOSE:


The Continuous Improvement Engineer’s role is to provide deep technical support in the Storage operations team via problem management. He/she will also be involved not only in Storage release management activities as well as technical aspects of Storage-based projects, but also has to proactively come up & participate with improvement activities within the scope of global environment.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


• Problem Management
  1. Provide technical solution and consultation to the GSO Run & Maintain teams
  2. Working with Vendor and Engineering to provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high-impact incidents or repeating incidents
  3. Perform a Proof of Concept as well as a Pilot Test Implementation on the Solution provided
  4. Ensure that the Solution is created and uploaded in BestGuide
• Change Management
  1. Assess the impact and technical details of Changes made to the Storage systems.
  2. Govern the change process within GSO
• Release Management
  1. Maintain the latest releases/firmware according to the SGA roadmap (via Engineering)
  2. Perform a Proof of Concept and also a Pilot Test Implementation on the new release rollout (this is after the impact assessment from Engineering)
  3. Create a runbook from the pilot test outcome
  4. Coordinate and plan for major rollout of the release/firmware
• Project Management 
  1. Provide technical input and perform technical execution in projects related to GSO operations
  2. Perform pre-requisites prior to an upgrade
  3. Perform healthchecks on the assets. If any break-fix, will engage GSO RNM team for assistance
  4. Gather all details and information to be provided to the Project Manager
  5. Prepare technical runbook, and review the runbook with the PM before CNL is sent out to the customer
  6. Perform healthchecks a day prior to the change implementation date
  7. Notify vendor in advance to be on standby for the confirmed change implementation
  8. Coordinate within GSO teams for change implementation
• DRS/BCP Activities
  1. Participate in all DRS technical walkthrough
  2. Coordinate and arrange for resources from GSO RNM for the Central DR Coordinator to contact
  3. Review the test plan provided by the Central DR Coordinator and provide technical consultations and input if and when necessary
  4. Review the DR steps with the GSO RNM team before the actual DRS implementation
  5. Perform pre and post tasks as well as healthchecks
• Security/Compliancy
  1. Perform password change on all storage related devices (SAN, NAS, BNR) on a monthly basis
  2. Remediate on all issues found with regards to ssh/telnet/login on switches, management servers
  3. Run TD script on all NetApp filers on a monthly basis, and remediate on non compliant assets
  4. Review and amend monthly CSL/KM report on compliancy for GSO before submitting for audit
  5. Controls and governs the security process within GSO (access & logins)
• Documentation/Knowledgebase
  1. Ensures that all GSO related documentations are reviewed and updated periodically
  2. Ensures that the solutions in BestGuide are reviewed and updated periodically
• Asset/Configuration Management
  1. Maintaining the updated asset list for GSO, reviewed periodically
  2. Governing the process of updating the asset list, working closely with OCD-SO team on newly deployed & decommissioned assets

Responsibilities:
  • Plan/manage/execute headcount plan of the site to meet productivity & cost effective; as well as ensure right calibre staffs are recruited to meet the staffing needs of the business.

And, to partner with regional ASC Talent Management, L&D, Organisational Development Manager to develop and implement processes and practices to ensure that effective training is provided to all employees, to meet the knowledge & skill requirements of the business.
  • Manage and leads all employees engagement & welfare matters, including health & wellness programs, administrative matters, etc.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional
  • Degree or Master's Degree in Human Resource Management, Mass Communications or equivalent. MInimum Degree level and HR professional membership
  • At least 10 year(s) of working experience HR experience in a multinational organization.

Java Developer, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Responsibilities:

This role reports to the Development lead, who is responsible for monitoring and maintenance of development services. In this role, the developer will work on customer projects so that they get delivered on time and per specifications.

Responsibilities include:
  • Convert functional specifications into detailed design.
  • Estimate work involved in developing changes.
  • Develop/configure/custom-build Java applications based on technical specifications.
  • Conduct peer-review of code and documentation.
  • Conduct factory and system testing delivery packaging, merging and build.
The role requires extensive interaction with client project teams over the phone / email.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology discipline and having working experience between 2 to 4 years in IT Application area with strong background in software development/ maintenance.
  • Experience in supporting Cards and Payment solutions and experience with mission critical transaction systems would be nice to have.
  • Strong technical skill in Java backend application and SQL stored procedures development.

Project Manager - Sun Systems - Malaysia

Work Location : Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia.

Project Description

Project is to upgrade the SUN systems remaining in the DS landscape, to secure their support for the future. Scope includes 7 SUN instances already in the data centre that must be moved to a virtual environment, and 11 local SUN instances that must be moved to the data centre. Connected applications and printing will need to be tested. The final phase of the project is to upgrade the SUN instances supporting the LPG businesses. Businesses impacted are in multiple regions and there are multiple stakeholders. The project team will include other third parties, including specialist suppliers (FSS Global and ICEB based in Romania and France respectively). Infrastructure required has already been established in an earlier phase.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed plan and estimate (Upstream have already executed a similar upgrade, so existing plan and estimates can be used as a starting point).
Coordinate team activities and resources.
Manage project finances. Manage project risks and issues
Manage project assurance activities. Ensure project adheres to project standards. Manage project stakeholders.

Report to steering committee
Complete standard project reporting.

Domestic Travel Required: 10%

MANDATORY: Strong project management skills Proven project delivery experience SUN systems knowledge and experience.

Oracle PL/ SQL Developer for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia


Work Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Responsibilities

Development with Oracle PL/SQL.
Liaise directly with end user on system request, issue and problem
Conduct system test and user-acceptance test on before deployment to live system.
Providing day-to-day technical and functional support in Oracle ERP suites

Requirements

Minimum Diploma holder
Mandarin (Chinese) Speaking.
Minimum 2 years relevant working experience working experience in among any of the below:
